Heidi Hudek is the Executive Director of Mountain Harvest Creative, a charitable organization whose mission is to celebrate and serve our local communities by supporting agriculture and the arts; collaborating with other local non-profits; providing education opportunities; showcasing the bounty of our North Fork Valley of the Gunnison River; and bringing money into our economy. MHC celebrates the many bounties of our valley by hosting the Mountain Harvest Festival annually the last weekend of September. This is the 15th year of our Festival. During the rest of the year, the charitable organization accomplishes our mission by giving money raised throughout the year to valuable programs. For seven years, MHC has supported scholarships for Teens on Farms, an internship program that teaches kids about the process and business of agriculture. Last year MHC collaborated with Blue Sage Center for the Arts to present Visual Learning Strategies, a program which taught elementary kids to think through the perspective of art. This year, MHC sponsored Musical Explorations, an assembly brought to elementary schools in Hotchkiss, Paonia, and Crawford, which taught about music from around the word, how instruments and musicians play together, and how kids can get involved in music themselves. With a Board of Directors, Heidi is proud to bring these programs and events to support our community.
